This is a painting which captured the results of an October snow before the farmer had harvested his corn crop. Utilizing a palette knife I was able to capture the way the corn struggled to rise above the snow.
It is always a pleasure to hear from friends and family, and to know that you are interested in art, particularly my art. I hope that you will visit again. I will periodically update my images with newly completed paintings. To view all the paintings I have posted "click" 2010 and you will be able to see them. I have a couple of pieces that I plan on completing this summer. I was invited to show my work at the Bede Art Gallery at Mt Marty College the Fall of 2010. I was commissioned to paint a number of paintings of houses this past summer, which although a departure from my usual style, was still very gratifying. I will post some of those images soon. I'm currently enrolled in grad school so free time is at a minimum. I'm looking forward to taking up my paintbrush very soon.
I am a full-time graduate student at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, SD. In addition to being a student, I am a mother of 3 boys, a landscape painter, and I love to cook, read and to knit but not always in that order. But most of all I love spending time with my boys and together we love camping, bicycle riding, and watching movies together.
Gin...You're back.
ReplyDeleteGreat to see you painting again. I'm on hold while I'm back in school as well. I really enjoyed your palette knife work. Beautiful and expressive.
